This building was in the process of deterioration, due to the previous application of inappropriate materials and a certain amount of neglect over the years; damp was a pervading problem, as well as rot and general decay. It has been a pleasure assisting the new owner and seeing this building being lovingly restored to a well functioning, healthy and happy home!

A 17th century cottage located in a conservation area of Derbyshire
The new owner of this property wanted to restore the house to its original state as much as possible, removing such materials and elements that were inappropriate, with some having caused issues like rising damp, which was remedied by using properly suited breatheable materials.
The owner undertook the project management, sourcing of materials and a lot of work herself and only needed occasional consultations throughout the duration of the project.
